Welcome note from the Dean

The School of Business and Economics is one of SEKU’s largest schools, with a student population of over 2000 and a full-time teaching faculty of 30. This is a young dynamic school that values close interaction and mentorship to help the students realise their potential.

The School is currently divided into three academic departments, namely Department of Business and Entrepreneurship, Department of Economics, and Department of Management Science. Our current undergraduate programs include Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Economics and Statistics, Bachelor of Business and Information Technology and Bachelor of Project Management. Our postgraduate programs include Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Supply Chain Management and Master of Science in Economics.

The school is in the final stages of preparing a five year strategic plan where it envisions having over 20 academic programs both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels by the year 2017. Some of the upcoming programs cover areas like Real Estate Management and Housing Administration, Cooperative Management, Technology, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, Financial Services Management, Office Management and Public Relations among others. The student numbers across the 20 academic programs is projected to grow to over 7,000 by the year 2020 and the teaching faculty will grow to over 100 full-time staff members. More departments and centres will be created in due course.
