South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) has developed a draft Strategic Plan covering the period 2023/24 - 2027/28. The Plan has been developed following the mandates, functions, and responsibilities of the University as established under the Universities Act 2012, the SEKU Charter 2013, the Constitution of Kenya 2010, and the revised Guidelines for the development of the fifth Generation Strategic Plans issued by the National Treasury and Economic Planning.
The Strategic Plan development process has followed the four steps outlined in the revised Guidelines for the Development of the Fifth-Generation Strategic Plans. Step one involved the initiation of the planning process with Top Management agreeing on the strategic direction for the University by reviewing and setting the vision, mission, core values, and strategic objectives and constituting a technical committee for the development of the Plan. Step two involved the actual development of the plan by the technical committee. Step three involves the validation of the Plan by stakeholders while step four involves the finalization and dissemination of the plan for implementation.
The final Strategic Plan will be a product of extensive collaboration and comprehensive feedback from our internal and external stakeholders. Consequently, SEKU has scheduled an external stakeholder forum for your input on the Draft Strategic Plan for further improvements.
