SEKU Red Ribbon Marathon 2026: Make a Difference, Be a Hero, Stay Drug Free

South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) is set to host the SEKU Red Ribbon Marathon on 31st October 2026, bringing together students, staff, alumni and members of the public in a united campaign against drug and substance abuse.

Held under the inspiring theme, “Make a Difference, Be a Hero, Stay Drug Free,” the marathon seeks to raise awareness about the dangers of drug and substance abuse while promoting healthy lifestyles, personal responsibility and a drug-free society.

The event provides an opportunity for the SEKU community and the public to come together, not only for physical fitness, but also to champion a cause that continues to affect individuals, families and communities.

Drug and substance abuse remains a major challenge, particularly among young people. Through the Red Ribbon Marathon, SEKU seeks to empower participants to make positive choices and become ambassadors for a healthier and drug-free society.

The theme, “Make a Difference, Be a Hero, Stay Drug Free,” calls upon everyone to recognize that being a hero does not necessarily require extraordinary acts. Choosing to stay drug free, encouraging others to make healthy decisions and speaking out against substance abuse are all meaningful ways of making a difference.

The marathon will also provide a platform for students and members of the public to engage in a positive and healthy activity while creating awareness on the importance of preventing drug and substance abuse.
