South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU), in partnership with the Eastern Africa Grain Council (EAGC) and the County Government of Kitui, is set to host a major Agribusiness Expo on Thursday, 30th July 2026, at the University's Main Campus in Kwa Vonza.
The Expo, themed "climate smart technologies and practices for sustainable food security" will bring together policymakers, researchers, development partners, agribusiness enterprises, farmers, financial institutions, students, and innovators to explore practical solutions for strengthening food systems and promoting sustainable agricultural development.
The event will be graced by the Governor of Kitui County, H.E. Dr. Julius Malombe, EGH, His presence underscores the County Government's commitment to advancing agriculture as a key driver of economic growth, food security, and employment creation.
The Agribusiness Expo will provide a unique platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and showcasing innovations that are transforming the agricultural value chain. Participants will have an opportunity to interact with experts, exhibitors, and industry leaders on emerging technologies, climate-smart agriculture, value addition, access to markets, financing opportunities, and youth engagement in agribusiness.
As a university located in Kenya's Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs), SEKU continues to champion research and innovation aimed at addressing the unique agricultural challenges facing the region.
