b) Job Specification
The duties and responsibilities entail:

  1. Assisting the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic, Research and Innovation) in the general administration in the Academic, Research and Innovation Division.
  2. Coordinating programmes/syllabi, rules and regulations governing the implementation of academic and research programmes and students conduct in the University.
  3. Coordinating continuous assessment of University and national examinations.
  4. Coordinating the preparation of teaching and examination timetables.
  5. Providing secretarial services to all Senate committees related to academics and student matters.
  6. Guiding Deans of Schools, Directors of Institutes and Chairmen of Departments in running of academic, research and outreach programmes at the respective levels.
  7. Coordinating and collect evidence for performance targets and preparation of the division’s performance contract quarterly reports.
  8. Overseeing the administration of student welfare services and integrity of the student data base.
  9. Working closely with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic, Research and Innovation) on teaching and technical staff development, training needs and research collaboration programmes.
  10. Coordinating teaching staff evaluation by students.
  11. Working closely with academic departments to ensure success in Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body interventions.
  12. Developing and administer the division’s budget.
  13. Planning student’s selection, admission and registration processes.
  14. Coordinating the administration and processing of examinations, academic transcripts and certificates.
  15. Communicating, follow-up and implement decisions of Management and Management Committees.
  16. Planning the semester schedule of classes each semester.
  17. Supervising the coordination, evaluation and certification of all graduation applications.
  18. Coordinating the allocation of resources for academic, research and outreach purposes.

a) Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this post, a candidate must:

  1. Have an earned PhD or its equivalent from a recognized and accredited University.
  2. Have a Master’s Degree in relevant area from an accredited and recognized University.
  3. Have Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited and recognized University.
  4. Have at least fifteen (15) years’ cumulative relevant work experience, four (4) of which must be at senior management level.
  5. Demonstrate leadership skills and management of staff at University level.
  6. Have management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks cumulatively.
  7. Have proven capacity to promote learning teaching and research and development in a University.
  8. Be computer proficient and conversant with use of ERP system.

SPECIALIZATION: MEDICAL SURGICAL NURSING

  1. An earned PhD in Nursing Sciences with specialty in Medical Surgical Nursing or

a) Job specification
The duties and responsibilities entail assisting in:

  1. Attending weekly staff meetings.
  2. Collating of information for the preparation of a quarterly sports
  3. Organizing daily sports training programs for students to ensure that students are trained effectively in readiness for competitions as scheduled.
  4. Distributing sports’ wear and equipment on a regular basis to replace worn out jerseys and faulty equipment thereby promoting sports activity.
  5. Book transport for sports outing on a weekly basis to ensure that participants attend competitions in time.
  6. Inspecting sports fields and their usability to ensure that any problems are fixed and they are properly utilized on a daily basis.
  7. Supervising the marking and routine maintenance of sports facilities to ensure they are always in good conditions in readiness for competitions.
  8. Carrying out in regularly organizing sporting events and creating awareness of the sporting activities in the University to encourage participation by students.
