The School of Law at South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) has received a significant boost to its academic resources following a generous donation of law books from the Lower Eastern Advocates Forum in collaboration with the Luo Advocates Forum.
The initiative was led by the Chairman of the Lower Eastern Advocates Forum, Adv. Justus Mung’ithya, alongside representatives from the Luo Advocates Forum led by Dr. Ekaria Handa. Their collective effort reflects a shared commitment to strengthening legal education and supporting the next generation of legal professionals.
The donated books are expected to enrich the university’s library and enhance both teaching and research within the School of Law.
During the visit, members of the two forums engaged with students, offering guidance on academic excellence and professional development. They encouraged students to remain focused, work hard, and uphold integrity in their legal journey. The advocates also pledged to offer attachment opportunities to students who demonstrate strong academic performance, giving them valuable exposure to practical legal work.
The event was graced by SEKU’s Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic, Research and Innovation, Prof. Eliud Muli, who expressed the university’s appreciation for the timely and impactful support. He noted that the donation aligns with SEKU’s mission to provide quality education, foster research, and promote innovation.
Prof. Muli further emphasized that the additional learning materials and mentorship will significantly enhance the academic experience of law students and better prepare them for the legal profession.
The SEKU School of Law continues to grow as a center of excellence, and such partnerships highlight the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and professional legal bodies.
The Dean of the School of Law, Amb. Dr. Koki Muli, was immensely excited by the generous donation and expressed deep gratitude for the thoughtful support. She noted that the contribution would go a long way in enhancing the school’s academic environment and empowering both students and faculty. Dr. Muli emphasized that such acts of goodwill not only strengthen institutional growth but also inspire a culture of collaboration and shared purpose.
She warmly appreciated the donors for their commitment and kindness, highlighting that their gesture would have a lasting positive impact on the school community.
The university extends its sincere gratitude to both the Lower Eastern Advocates Forum and the Luo Advocates Forum for their generosity, mentorship, and continued support.
